How to care for your natural wood food boards:
We include a product care card with all orders so whomever you are buying for will know exactly what to do. All natural wood products require regular conditioning with a food safe finish. We recommend adding a container of board balm to your order to complete your gift. If not purchased from us, you can find similar products at some specialty kitchen supply stores.
- Wipe clean with a damp cloth. Do not submerge in water.
- Re-seal with a natural food safe finish after cleaning.
- Keep out of direct sunlight.

More about our Board Balm
Board Balm is a natural wood conditioner used to care for any wood food boards, live edge charcuterie boards, natural wood cutting boards, serving boards, etc. Our Board Balm is made in Canada using mineral oil and beeswax. Each container contains 4oz of wood conditioner.
Comparing Cutting Boards and Live Edge Charcuterie Boards
Our cutting boards are 100% Canadian made, crafted from a mix of maple hardwood. Every board is unique – with differences in colour and grain pattern in every piece. Cutting boards are meant to be used to cut and prepare food. The edges have been sanded smooth and they sit flat on the table. Both sides are functional. See our cutting board designs here.
By comparison, live edge charcuterie boards are made from one species of wood with the edges left in their natural state. They can have bark attached, or not, but have a much more rustic look than the cutting boards. Used for serving food at parties, live edge charcuterie boards sit raised above the table on felted feet. See our live edge charcuterie board designs here.
